The best time to send a marketing email

In our courses, we talk about considering the best time to send an email. Some say you get better email ‘open’ rates by avoiding Monday and Friday, and only sending between 10 am and 3 pm on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday.

But, as always, it depends on your reader. For example, one of our trainees, an executive assistant to a senior banker, recently said she likes to send longer emails to her boss at about 5.30 pm, because she knows that’s when he’ll be commuting home by train, and will have uninterrupted time to read them.
